Agro Merchants buys Transmode

Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Agro Merchants has bought Transmode based in Paulsboro, New Jersey. Most of its business is in Philadelphia, PA. This transaction substantially increases Agro’s northeast operations with a primary focus on meat and other protein commodities.

Vince D’Anella, owner of Transmode, will continue in a lead role at Agro as director of Ttansportation. Transmode is the largest regional meat delivery service in the northeast of the US with operations are split between port drayage services and outbound transportation to distribution centers and processing facilities.

“This transaction is a natural fit for our business, which continues to grow and specialize in the commodity and value-added services segments,” said Dave Moore, president Agro Merchants North America.

“Vince is an industry leader with whom Agro has enjoyed a long-standing business relationship through our Mullica Hill operations led by Dan Sorbello. This business combination gives us scale and operational benefits to better support our customers’ supply chain. I look forward to working with Vince and his entire team as they join Aagro Merchants Group.”
