Carrier Transicold’s Vector 1950 debuts at IAA Show

Hanover, Germany: Carrier Transicold gave a world premiere of its Vector 1950 trailer refrigeration unit, with E-Drive technology, at the IAA Show.

It features microchannel condenser coils, the Vector 1950 unit’s condenser is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the Vector 1850, while providing even greater efficiency. The Vector 1950 unit also boosts capacity that is 4% more than the previous model, achieving 18,800 watts, for faster pull-down and the ability to haul larger loads over long distances.

Also available as a multi-temperature version, the Vector 1950 MT unit’s microchannel coils help reduce fuel consumption per watt delivered by 10% on average.  The use of microchannel coils produces an environmentally sound solution, enabling a compact design that results in a 17 per cent reduction in the unit’s refrigerant charge.

The Vector 1950 unit uses Carrier’s patented E-Drive all-electric technology, which removes mechanical transmissions found in belt-driven systems and transforms engine power into electricity through a generator.

“Developing innovative cold chain solutions is ingrained in the culture of Carrier Transicold,” said David Appel, president, Carrier Transicold.

The new Vector 1950 unit is a perfect example of our focus on continuing to innovate to meet the changing requirements in the transport refrigeration marketplace.”
