This year’s new Top 25 operator listing, produced by Cold Chain News and its website, Global Cold Chain News, and exclusive to the titles, reveals that 2013 proved to be a challenging year but most companies grew their revenue.

NR Evans recorded an impressive 32% rise in turnover, from £22m to £29m. Nagel Landons grew its turnover by a solid 15%, from £74m in 2012 to £85m in 2013. NFT Distribution, Turners (Soham) and Oakland International were other strong players this year, all recording turnover increases of 10% or more from 2012 to 2013.

Some companies told CCN that 2013 had been a difficult year but they are optimistic about 2014 and an improving economic climate.
