Lidl expands with £55m RDC in Exeter

Exeter, UK: Lidl has opened a new £55m logistics hub in Exeter as part of its plans to expand its distribution network.

The new 50,000sq metre centre in the Exeter Gateway business park will serve 40 stores across the region during the peak Christmas period, rising to 51 from February 2018.

Lidl aims to invest £1.45bn in growing its business by 2019 and new regional distribution centres (RDCs) are part of this expansion plan.

Regional director Mark Henry said: “Christmas is the busiest and most exciting time of year at Lidl. This new regional distribution centre will play an essential role in helping us meet growing customer demand.”
