McBurney Transport named Temperature-Controlled Operator of the Year

Liverpool, UK: McBurney Transport Group has been crowned Temperature Controlled Operator of the Year at the Motor Transport Awards 2018.

In 1965 current managing director Norman McBurney set up McBurney Transport with one lorry. Since then it has remained a family-owned and managed business. Customers include major supermarkets, food and drink manufacturers and distributors, high street retailers and companies in the construction, horticulture and industrial sectors.

The company has a 30,000 pallet coldstore in Liverpool with five chambers where storage can be provided at a range of temperatures from +4 to -26 degrees to suit chilled, frozen and ambient products.

McBurney runs 700 refrigerated trailers, including 120 high-cube double- capacity trailers.

The other finalists at the MT Awards were Moran Logistics and NFT Distribution.

Paul Day, managing director of Turners of Soham picked up the Service to Industry award while Team of the Year went to Wincanton.
