Aberdeenshire Larder has taken five refrigerated 3.5-tonne Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans on full-service contract hire, from Fraikin

It is the butcher and game dealer’s first business with Fraikin. The vans replace older variants in the seven-vehicle fleet previously on contract hire from another supplier, alongside two light commercials owned by the customer. They will deliver fresh and frozen meat products to catering and retail customers across mainland Scotland six days a week.

Vicki Moir, business development manager, Aberdeenshire Larder, says: “Our delivery vehicles can travel 500 miles in one day, so it’s important they’re always in the best condition; if there are any problems, it’s imperative that they are looked at quickly to avoid delays. Fraikin were able to supply us with the perfect vans for the job, supported by a full-service agreement which is tailored specifically to ensure our operation runs as smoothly as possible.”

Each Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van will clock up 50,000 miles a year from Aberdeenshire Larder’s main headquarters in Ellon. They are fitted with a Carrier Transicold Xarios fridges.

“We’ve used contract hire in the past, but it was clear from the outset that Fraikin were offering that little bit more. They quickly understood our needs as a business, suggested the ideal vehicles for our operation and offered additional benefits that helped to reassure us that our fleet is in good hands – now, we’re able to really focus on growing the company,” Moir says.
