Pelican BioThermal opens San Diego service center

San Diego, California, USA: Pelican BioThermal has opened its first service center in southern California, in San Diego.

The center will service reusable Crēdo Cube parcel shippers, including refurbishment and repair.  It will also serve as an network station for the company’s expanding Crēdo on Demand rental program, which offers flexible rental option for temperature controlled pallet shippers, with global reach.

“San Diego’s growing life sciences cluster makes this location a natural fit for our next service center,” said Dominic Hyde, vice president, Crēdo on Demand. “Given all the biotechnology research and development happening in and around southern California right now, a new service center in this location not only provides enormous benefit to current customers, but also other companies looking to safely transport biologics and other temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals through this location in the future.”

The facility opening in San Diego is the first of 12 new Credo on Demand network station openings planned for 2018. Other locations include Tokyo, Seoul, Basel, Dublin, Toronto, Frankfurt,Tel Aviv, Indianapolis and others to be named later.

The company also plans to launch over 50 drop points in the next few months, for end of rental drop-off of their passive temperature controlled containers (including Crēdo Cargo and Crēdo Xtreme) at new locations in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

In addition to serving as a network station for the company’s Crēdo on Demand rental program, the new San Diego service center will provide a variety of options for Pelican BioThermal customers, including optional conditioning and end of rental drop-off. The new location complements the existing and expanding network stations servicing key hubs for pharmaceutical manufacturing and transfer activities and is available to customers worldwide.
