Petit Forestier’s new Apprentice Academy

Dordon, Warwickshire: Refrigerated rental and contract hire company Petit Forestier is spearheading an apprenticeship programme in partnership with Leicestershire-based Stephenson College.

“Apprentice Academy” centres on bespoke apprenticeships to train candidates to become qualified in Light Vehicle Repair & Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Repair & Maintenance, Tail-Lift Engineering and Transport Refrigeration (F Gas – cat 1). Candidates will also achieve IRTEC Qualification/Licensing.

A spokeswoman for Petit Forestier says: “This Apprenticeship is the first of its kind in the UK, as currently qualifications would either be in LGV or HGV, not both plus refrigeration.”

Some 16 candidates will be employed in the first year, with a rolling programme throughout the UK.

The programme is being launched on 17 September at Stephenson College, based in Coalville.

Petit Forestier is a European refrigerated rental and contract-hire service provider offering vehicles, coldstores and display units.
