Pimpernel Wharf achieves highest ever Christmas service levels following move to Fowler Welch

Nuneaton, UK: Continental cheese and charcuterie importer Pimpernel Wharf is celebrating its most successful Christmas ever since joining the range of big brands at Fowler Welch’s Nuneaton distribution centre.

The chilled logistics company has taken control of Pimpernel Wharf’s chilled storage, picking and distribution to the major retailers and wholesalers across the country. The three-year contract will see between 3-400 pallets stored on-site at any given time, with a total throughput of two million cases per year.

Fowler Welch was chosen based on its ability to seamlessly incorporate Pimpernel Wharf’s range of products into its operation.

The contract was initially due to begin in January 2019 but was brought forward due to unforeseen customer requirements, which required Fowler Welch’s team to quickly accommodate this additional volume at the busiest time of the year.

Daniel Stuart, owner and managing director of Pimpernel Wharf said: “From the initial meeting, we were incredibly impressed with the entire Fowler Welch team and its facilities, but being able to bring us on board at short notice at the busiest time of the year was simply going above and beyond.

“The team listened and responded quickly and professionally, picking up all of our stock and covering all Christmas orders from 1st December. Not only did they take this on without question, but they proceeded to deliver the highest service levels our business has ever had over the same period. These incredible results are down to Fowler Welch’s knowledge and expertise, meaning we can focus on sourcing and supplying high quality cheese and charcuterie and growing our business, safe in the knowledge that we are working with a trustworthy partner that can seamlessly take care of our logistics needs.
