Abel acquired by rival

Chesterfield, UK: Abel Demountable Systems has been bought by Wheelbase Holdings in a trade sale. Abel designs and makes truck body demount equipment, drawbar trailers and bodywork. Castle Square Corporate Finance managed the sale by auction.

Castle Square identified potential buyers and ran an auction process from which North West-based Wheelbase emerged as the preferred bidder.

Kevan Shaw at Castle Square says: “Castle Square are delighted to have acted on this transaction, which secures a successful exit for the shareholders of Abel Demountables but also ensures the future success of the company in the hands of Wheelbase, for whom the purchase is an excellent strategic fit.”
