Award for eutectic refrigeration pods

Rijen, Netherlands: Belgium based Sligro-ISPC won the Innovation Award presented at Horeca Expo, the Belgian food and beverage trade fair, for using solar-powered Trens-Logic electric vehicles with BoTemp Cold Pods.

The Trens-Logic’s electric commercial vehicles run on solar energy. They have been developed in response to the growing demand for clean and silent transport in inner cities.

Refrigeration of the load is in eutectic Cold Pods from BoTemp. The eutectic Cold Pod from does not draw on the vehicle’s electric battery for charging which would considerably shorten the vehicle’s range.

The Cold Pods are charged beforehand. Fans and sensors ensure constant temperature in the cargo area regardless of door openings.

Sligro-ISPC also plans to use Cold Pod on two trucks with operation schedule to start early next year.

Bidfood Electric is using BoTemp’s Cold Pods in the Netherlands for city distribution of frozen and chilled product. This truck has cold beams weighing 560kg and a190g onboard charger to provide 12.5kWh of refrigeration in a 35 cubic metre body
