Calais, France: The mayor of Calais unveiled plans to build the largest logistics deveopment in northern France. The Calais Premier development will provide a direct gateway for the distribution of goods between the UK and mainland Europe.
Construction work on the scheme is expected to start next year, according to website International Trade. The development, expected to cover 160 hectares, will be located in the Turquerie industrial zone, providing access to Calais Port, the Channel Tunnel and the rail network.
Natacha Bouchart, the mayor of Calais, said: “With this project Calais will assert its strategic position as a European crossroads.”
