Denner supermarkets supplied by solar powered Renault

Zürich, Switzerland: Rhyner Logistik has acquired a an electric Renault Trucks D Wide ZE to supply Denner supermarkets.

The Swiss haulier has also fitted solar panels onto the body of the truck to provide power to the fridge.

The electric 26 tonne tonner joins Rhyner Logistik’s the 100 vehicle fleet and supplies Denner supermarkets in Zurich.

Fitting solar panels onto the vehicle body suits temperature-controlled transport, because it is when outside temperatures are high – and the sun is therefore strong – that the cooling is most needed.

Rhyner Logistik has also acquired a rapid charging station with the truck is charged at the depot when loading.

Braking, energy recovery also leads to savings of 20 to 30%.
