Generation Logistics to shift perceptions of logistics

Tunbridge Wells, UK: Generation Logistics – a year-long national campaign which aims to shift perceptions of the industry and attract the next generation of logistics workers – launches on 10 August.

The campaign will use a broad mix of media to convey its key messages, including television, radio, print and digital, as well as social media and conventional public relations activity.

Phil Roe, president, Logistics UK, said: “We’re delighted that we have already exceeded our targets for industry support and sponsorship. This money will be utilised to maximum effect to create more than half a billion opportunities for people to learn about the breadth and diversity of the logistics sector and its vital role in the nation’s economy.

“This campaign represents a huge opportunity to shift perceptions of the sector, encourage the next generation of logistics workers to engage with the wide choice of career opportunities available and keep the nation’s supply chain protected.

“If the first year is as successful as we hope it will be, then Generation Logistics could be extended to grow its impact over time.”

The initiative is a collaboration between Logistics UK and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. The Department for Transport is the lead supporting government department while sponsors for the campaign include businesses from all transport modes as well as a number of key industry bodies.
