Whitchurch, United Kingdom: Grocontinental has submitted a planning application for a 5,493-sq metre extension to its existing frozen and chill storage and distribution warehouse.
It comes weeks after the family-run firm announced a separate £2.25m (US$3.64) investment in a new 3,700-sq metre warehouse.
The temperature-controlled warehouse expansion will boost to the dairy warehousing sector in the UK which has declined in the past decade said Linda Grocott, joint managing director.
“This latest application is part of our future growth plans,” she said.
“One of the objects of this development is to provide additional sub-zero and chill warehousing capacity together with additional blast freezing/defrosting facilities, the company said in a statement.
