Grocontinental expansion recommended despite local opposition

Whitchurch, UK: Grocontinental’s expansion plans have met with local opposition. Grocontinental wants to extend its existing storage and distribution warehouse facility at Whitchurch Business Park.

Local critics, including Whitchurch Town Council, have spoken out raising fears about noise and light pollution plus the environmental and visual impact of the scheme.

Grocontinental’s application is being recommended for approval despite more than 60 objections from residents. The company says the move will protect 250 existing jobs and create 20 new jobs.
