Hultsteins buys Cold Connect

Leigh Sinton, Worcester, UK: Hultsteins, a Swedish company making hydraulic-powered truck fridges, has bought UK-based Cold Connect which makes electric and hydraulic powered fridges.

The companies have previously worked closely with Cold Connect selling Hultsteins’ system in the UK.

“The acquisition of Cold Connect gives us a solid foundation in a very interesting market. It also expands our technical knowledge about electricity and hybrid solutions, which means that we are well-equipped to meet future refrigerated transport requirements,” says Börje Axelsson, chief executive, Hultsteins.

“The integration of Cold Connect with Hultsteins was a natural step as the companies have many similarities, not least when it comes to smart solutions that are sustainable for both customers and the environment,” says Stephen Maile, chief executive, Cold Connect.
