Kuehne+Nagel opens pharma site

London, UK: Kuehne+Nagel has opened a new warehouse at East Midlands Gateway.

The 3,700sq metre temperature-controlled warehouse is for pharmaceutical products and has a 15,000sq metre cross-dock area for general cargo.

The new site will combine activities currently carried out in Birmingham and Nottingham  and 270 employees will relocate to East Midlands Gateway.

Jim Hedderwick, Overland director, Kuehne+Nagel UK, said: “With significant investment in new technology and a focus on colleague wellbeing our new site will be a great place to work. This supports our goal of being the best company to work for and the best company to work with.

“Our official opening was a perfect opportunity to show the new site to many of our valued customers and to demonstrate to them how the introduction of new technology will continue to support and add value to their businesses.”

The site will be fully operational by the end of April, and is the first completed structure at the East Midlands Gateway site.
