Nagel Langdons tests Terberg reefer

London, UK: Nagel Langdons is testing a Terberg DTS rigid reefer.

The 18-tonne refrigerated trick is designed by Dennis Eagle, now part of Terberg, and has a Gray & Adams body.

The vehicle is based on Dennis Eagle’s Elite 11.8m rigid chassis with a Volvo 280hp Euro 6 engine and Allison six-speed automatic gearbox.

The truck has a low-noise, low-emission Carrier TRS Twin Cool undermount fridge as as standard, and Gray & Adams dual compartment reefer body with an internal moveable bulkhead. A curved roof and internal body length of 7.75m, to give the body volume of 45 cubic metres.

Its direct vision capability comes from full-length glass panels and walk-through cab. Safety features include a Mobileye Shield collision avoidance system, lane change and distance control systems, a Vue CCTV system and full side lighting.

A Dhollandia 500kg side loading lift is incorporated into the nearside of the body, along with a standard Dhollandia rear tail-lift for loading docks.

The truck was shown for the first time at last year’s CV Show.

“We are also concerned about making London safer. That is why we are interested in the diverse range of safety aspects offered by the vehicle,” said Tyrone Lanaway, engineering manager, Nagel Langdons.
