Navman Wireless launches Smart Telematics system

Keele University Science Park, Staffordshire, UK: Navman Wireless, UK vehicle-tracking specialist, has launched a driver behaviour and vehicle performance monitoring solution.

The Smart Telematics system, powered by Navman’s vehicle-tracking platform OnlineAVL, has been designed to provide fleet managers with real-time data about vehicle and driver behaviour and “will enable businesses to make informed decisions that can help reduce fuel consumption, extend equipment life, cut carbon emissions and improve driver safety,” it says.

“The system also has the unique benefit of complete vehicle adaptability. Navman say it can be installed on HGV, LGV, vans and cars and works by taking live data from the engine, analysing it and sending it to fleet managers in an easy to understand ‘user friendly’ format.”

“Many fleet managers are using telematics to carefully monitor the driving habits of their drivers, but unless data is truly dynamic, clearly presented and immediately useful, it may not be easy to see where improvements can be made.

“An effective telematics platform means you don’t have to read through pages of information to see the benefits,” he says.
