Norbert Dentressangle to buy Chinese freight forwarder

Saint Vallier, France. French logistics operator Norbert Dentressangle is to acquire freight forwarder APC Beijing International.

APC operates sixteen offices in China and last year turned over £44m (US$72m). I is expected to be consolidated into the ND Group by the final quarter of this year.

Norbert Dentressangle expects APC Beijing’s operations to play a much more significant part in the group’s total earnings once integrated.

Norbert Dentressangle consolidated revenue was £1.5bn (US$2.45b) up 21.9% from the same period last year as reported in company’s figures released yesterday for the first half of 2011. Much of the growth is attributable to the consolidation of UK transport company TDG acquired earlier this year, said Norbert.
