Pfizer opens cold chain packaging centre

Havant, UK:  Pfizer has opened a £7m cold storage facility at its site in Havant.  The site provides cold chain packaging and supply of vaccines and injectable medicines worldwide.

In 2010 Pfizer opened a £26.3m biotechnology packaging plant on the site.  The cold store is one of the largest in Europe capable of handling up to 38.4 million doses.

Jon Tucker, Havant site lead, said: “The site is recognised as a Centre of Excellence for cold chain distribution and packaging, we have a specialist team here that have developed technologies that are leading the way in this complex area of supply and logistics.”
