Safety first for vans

Belfast, Northern Ireland: The Freight Transport Association has a conference, Van Operations: Your responsibilities, to help operators meet the legal requirements of van operation.

The event, part of the FTA’s Van Excellence scheme, takes place at Radar NI in Belfast on 21 August 2019.

Mark Cartwright, head of vans, FTA, who heads Van Excellence, said: “The consequences of operating a van unsafely can be enormous; from large fines, prison sentences, to even loss of life. “

“Operators must take their responsibility to their drivers – as well as other road users – very seriously. That’s why we launched a new event, Van Operations: Your responsibilities, to arm with operators will the toolkit they need to reduce risk by improving safety and increasing the wellbeing of their drivers.”
