Seatrade launches new Spain-UK service

Dover, United Kingdom: Seatrade is running a new weekly Celti-Iberian Express Service connecting the ports of Marin in Galicia, Spain, and Dover in Kent, United Kingdom.

Vessels sail on Fridays from Marin to the UK with a two-day crossing with all temperature control containers carried under deck. Seatrade’s reefer terminal operators are in Marin is Fruport and Hammond’s Logistics in Dover. Both terminals will be able to handle all fruit and vegetables in and out of containers with on-site temperature-controlled storage facilities.

Hammond’s Logistics is providing distribution services in the UK for full container load and palletised consignments.

Seatrade estimates that most commodities currently trucked from Spain to the UK can use the longer sea crossing. Transport costs are expected to be at least 25% below comparable road costs and without seasonal fluctuations in road haulage rates.
