Supply chain conference for Scotland

Glasgow, UK: The Freight Transport Association and law firm DWF Biggart Baillie are running a one day conference on 27 September in Glasgow on Scotland’s supply chains and their ability to deliver Scotland’s future needs and economic growth.

The conference will feature the launch of a report by Professor Alan McKinnon of Herriot Watt University into the current state and fitness for purpose of Scotland’s supply chains and their future needs to meet the challenges of a developing Scotland.

Chris MacRae, the associations head of policy in Scotland says: “This conference will be an opportunity for freight, logistics and supply chain organisations to put forward their requirements of what they need to deliver the expectations of exporters, importers and retailers.”

Neil Amner, partner at DWF Biggart Baillie, says:  “The future of Scotland’s economic growth largely depends on the fitness of our supply chains. This conference will explore how we can streamline our processes and operations cost effectively so that we can keep trade moving and prepare for the economic upturn.”

The conference will feature sessions on:

  • Business conditions and outlook
  • Customer perspectives on how easy a place Scotland is to do business
  • Scotland’s supply chain connectivity
  • Planning policy agenda
  • Strategic transport investment
