Wared Logistics Saudi cold chain warehouses

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Wared Logistics has started the first of a series of temperature-controlled warehouses planned to be in operation next year.

The first warehouse, a 6000sq metre site with frozen and chilled in Riyadh, will be operational by January with Jeddah and Dammam and other locations in central and southern Saudi Arabia to follow.

Wared’s warehousing operations come under the subsidiary Wared Warehousing and Distribution company, which expects to have up to 15,000sq metres of refrigerated warehousing under its management by mid 2012.

“Temperature controlled warehousing for finished products represent the higher end of the market,” said Marwan Alfadl, chief executive, Wared Logistics.  “By focusing on this segment, Wared Logistics is firmly establishing itself as a professional third party logistics service provider.”

“As for dry warehousing, frozen goods clients tend to have dry storage requirements as well, so that will be part of our operations also,” he said.  “We will be looking more closely into dry and ambient as we progress.”

Over the past 18 months, Wared has established transport serving the food and pharmaceuticals industries and is currently expanding its fleet of dedicated reefer trucks to handle the distribution of frozen stored goods.
