World’s first instant video notification 3G vehicle accident camera

Croydon, London, UK: Smart Witness, which leads the market in on-board vehicle CCTV systems, has made the leap to the next generation camera with the world’s first instant video notification 3G vehicle accident camera.

Smart Witness’s new transmission technology means the system provides instant video footage of an accident straight to a user’s computer or phone, seconds after the event.

The new Smart Witness on-board vehicle camera now provides details of vehicle speed, location, and driving style continuously to any compatible PC, Mac tablet or smartphone, either when the accident occurs or on demand.

The system allows for second camera input and the cloud-based server option means that false event detention is 99.99% accurate. It is compatible with standard (including PAYG) or M2M sims and contracts which means that monthly charges are low.

“This is the next generation on-board vehicle camera”, says Nick Plowman at Smart Witness. Operators who install Smart Witness on-board recording videos already cite lower insurance premiums, improved driver performance and the ability to defend themselves against false claims as three of the system’s main benefits. Now Smart Witness can do that instantly.

Smart Witness provides vital, accurate information in the event of an accident, cutting insurance claim costs by as much as 50% and protecting operators against malicious and false claims.  “This new camera takes that a step further by providing operators instant video notification of an accident including all the key data necessary for handling insurance claims,” Plowman says.

“No other on-board recording system delivers benefits that include lower insurance costs, enhanced safety, driver appraisals and cloud upload to insurance brokers and companies allowing fast resolution of claims,” he says.

“Speed is of the essence when it comes to dealing with insurance claims,” says Plowman.  “You cannot wait a day or two to post information: insurance companies need data immediately to stop escalation of claims in the event of an accident where it’s your fault. That instantly eliminates spurious car hire, injury and repair claims. With Smart Witness technology protecting you there should no longer be any 50/50 or ‘knock for knock’ claims”, Plowman says.
