Yearsley goes global

Heywood, Lancashire, UK:  Yearsley Group is launching a new “global logistics and freight forwarding division” in a bid to provide a single source solution to UK food manufacturing customers.

The service will see Yearsley Group take control of the logistics and import operations for products from overseas suppliers, throughout their journey to Yearsley Group’s wide logistics network.

Tim Moran, logistics sales director, says: “Global logistics and freight forwarding is a complex business and can involve half-a-dozen different organisations from source to factory.  This not only allows for cost inefficiencies but can also create a lot of red tape and stresses between the different suppliers.  This single source solution aims to eliminate all of that with the provision of a more streamlined, transparent service.”

UK manufacturers will be able to request a contract covering any aspect of the product journey.  This could include collection from the overseas supplier, plus international transfer, or simply collection from the UK port and road delivery into the Yearsley cold store.  Yearsley will also provide emergency airfreight collection for customers with immediate and unforeseen requirements.
